The base variants of the Maruti Dzire come with 165/80 R 14 tyres, which can be swapped with wider 185/70 R 14 tyres. This will provide a low profile look to the car and will result in the decrease of ground clearance by about 0.8 percent alongside a 5 mm reduction in the diameter caused by the width of the tyres. Moreover, the second recommended upsize option are the 195/60 R 15 tyres that see a slight decrease of 0.7 percent in terms of ground clearance alongside a 4.6 mm drop in the diameter owing to the width of the tyres.

As a first recommended upsize option, the Maruti Dzire’s top-end variants can be fitted with larger 195/60 R 15 tyres in place of factory fitted 185/65 R 15 tyres. By fitting these (195/60 R 15) tyres the ground clearance of the car will drop by 1 percent alongside will result in the lessening of the diameter by 6.5 mm because of the width of the tyres.
Moreover, if you are looking for more grip, extra low profile appearance and added sportiness you can go for the 205/55 R 15 as second recommended upsize option. The 205/55 R 15 tyres will witness a decrease in the diameter by a sizable 15 mm, while the said ground clearance of the Dzire will go down by a good 2.4 percent giving it a really cool yet sporty look.
Recommended tyre upsizing has got many advantages. Besides providing a sleek and stable appearance to the car, it also enhances steering response that makes way for superior manoeuvrability and drivability under demanding conditions. Likewise, high-speed braking and improved braking distance under wet and dry conditions make car driving confident, comfortable and free from any hassles.
Remember, if the width is increased it will result in better handling of the car, whereas if there is a change in the rim size due to upsizing it will provide more ground clearance in some cases.
Moreover, the difference in the ground clearance should be max up to 3% or less than 3% against its actual clearance. In case, if the increase or decrease in the ground clearance is of more than 3% then it may affect the functioning of the odometer and might touch the fender or the car body while driving.
Note – The above-mentioned tyre upsizing options may affect odometer reading marginally. These upsizes are suggested as per our upsizing calculation.

You can opt for 185/70 R 14.
Tyre size is read as:
185 – Section Width
It is the tyre width in mm.
70 – Aspect Ratio
It is the height of the sidewall expressed as a percentage of the tyre width. Here, an aspect ratio of 70 indicates that the section height of the tyre is 70% of the section width of the tyre.
R – Construction
R represents the Radial construction of the tyre.
16 – Rim Diameter
It is the inside diameter of the tyre. It indicates the diameter of the rim or rim height and is measured in inches.
So the difference between 185/70 r 14 and 185/65 R 14 will is that the height of the sidewall will be shorter in the second option when compared to the first.
You can also consider up-sizing to 195/70 R 14.

Hi, since you have already changed your stock tyres to 185/70 R14 and you are still not happy with the ground clearance, simply up-sizing rims and tyres will not help as it may give a bit of height but will in turn start putting pressure on your suspensions and axles while also risking to reduce the space between your wheels and fenders. Please consult your mechanic for the details of what kind of suspension rework can be done to accommodate the desired ground clearance. Also verify if making any changes to your car nulls the warranty before its period as many vehicle manufacturers have this kind of clauses.
