The 26th edition of the CEAT Cricket Rating (CCR) Awards took place in Mumbai on August 21.
One of India’s leading tyre makers, CEAT, recently celebrated the achievements of our beloved cricketers in the 26th edition of the CEAT Cricket Rating (CCR) Awards. Over the years, the event has garnered a lot of popularity and respect in the cricketing world. It brings together the cricketing fraternity and celebrates the exceptional performances of cricketers—the award honours cricketers who are consistent and do great throughout the year. Phil Salt won the Men’s T20I Batter of the Year award in this year’s ceremony. The former Indian captain, Virat Kohli won the Men’s ODI Batter of the Year award, and Sai Kishore was recognised as the CEAT Domestic Cricketer of the Year. The Indian pacer, Md. Shami was awarded the Men’s ODI Bowler of the Year. In a special award, Rahul Dravid was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by CEAT.
Mr. Harsh Goenka, Chairman of RPG Group, was sharing his views on the event. He said, CEAT takes pride in continuously supporting and celebrating cricket in the country. He lauded the fact that in past years, CEAT cricket ratings have become a standard in recognising the extraordinary feats achieved by cricketers worldwide. He also talked about the fact that through these awards CEAT not only facilitates good performances of the cricketers but celebrates the power of cricket too which helps bring people together from various backgrounds.
The legendary Indian batsman, Sunil Gavaskar, who was also the Chief Adjudicator of the CEAT Cricket Ratings said that these awards have become a frontrunner in recognising the outstanding talent in this wonderful sport. He shared his heartfelt gratitude for being a part of this magnificent forum.
Speaking on the occasion, the current ODI captain and also CEAT Men’s International Cricketer of the Year, Rohit Sharma, appreciated this gesture from CEAT and said that he is honoured and motivated to do better in future.
