Michelin North Wins 2016 Ag Innovation Award

Well, every big or small tyre company do have some Corporate Social Responsibility. And when it comes to designing the tyres that will be put to use in the best interest of agriculture, Michelin is a front-runner.

Michelin recently during 2016 Agri-Trade Equipment Expo in Alberta, Canada, was awarded as 2016 Ag Innovations Award for its “Michelin Cargo X Bib High Flotation Tyre”. The tyre was honoured as one of the three top industry advancements at the event.

As said by Mike Pantaleo, for Michelin Agriculture in Canada, “The agricultural industry relies on continuous innovation that supports profitability, productivity and safety for farmers. Michelin is pleased to receive a 2016 Ag Innovations Award for the Cargo X Bib, a tyre designed to help farmers preserve crop yields, lower fuel consumption, increase tyre life and save time.”

As per Michelin, The Cargo X Bib is the Michelin’s first Ultraflex Technology tyre engineered for trailers and towed machinery. According to Michelin, this technology allows for increased power and weight of today’s farm machinery without even hurting the efficiency and this is the first and only implement tyre in the market that is compatible with the Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS).

The Cargo X Bib has a tread pattern designed to provide improved self-cleaning features, greater endurance, better on-road handling and high speed transport. Further, the tyre has round and quite solid shoulders to protect the plants and operates at low pressure to protect the soil from footprints and distribute the weight.

My need for speed began at a very early age and I realised this as soon as I got my first bicycle at the age of 8. When all the other kids would break downhill I would pedal harder just to go faster and enjoy the thrill.
