Michelin Pilot Tyre Performance
Michelin across the globe has been one of the pioneers in the performance tyre arena. In order to extract maximum performance from the tyre, Michelin uses latest expertise like the new XST+ sipe technology in the Pilot Road 4 tyres that minimizes braking distances on slippery/wet surfaces and road. Furthermore, the harder center compounds in the Pilot tyre assist in minimizing irregular wear. The performance is steady even under harsh riding conditions, which ensures exceptional longevity of tyre. Be it long highway rides or daily to and fro commuting, Michelin Pilot bike tyres are up against any challenge thrown at them. When it comes to high-speed braking under dry and wet conditions, thanks to the 2CT and XST technology, the tyres easily outclass their competition. Moreover, the flexible compound and tread grooving provides optimal grip while cornering. Michelin has also got patented tread pattern and precise tread compounds across its Michelin Pilot tyre series.

Michelin Pilot Tyre Fuel Efficiency
In the Pilot portfolio, fuel efficiency has been given special attention and that is the reason every tyre of this lineup delivers optimum fuel mileage. However, one cannot expect out of the box fuel efficiency as the performance tyres’ prime focus is better high speed handling, stability and exceptional traction under wet conditions.
Michelin Pilot Tyre Warranty
For the two-wheeler tyres Michelin India offers a standard warranty of 5 years from the date of purchase or 6 years from the date of manufacture, whichever comes first. The standard warranty covers flaws in the making of design, workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread, or for 3 years from date of purchase, whichever occurs first. Warranty is valid only to the damages caused to the tyres, and not the tubes.
Michelin Pilot Tyre Speed Rating
As most of the tyres in the Pilot range fall in the performance category, they are provided with different speed ratings. The Michelin Pilot Sporty receives P and S speed rating which means they can be accelerated up to 150 kmph and 180 kmph respectively. Â Moreover, the Michelin Pilot Road 2 and Michelin Pilot Road 4 are endowed with a high speed rating of W. Tyres with such rating can be speed up to 270 kmph. The Michelin Pilot Street Radial tyres get different speed ratings in the form of H (up to 210 kmph), S (up to 180 kmph) and P (up to 150 kmph).
Michelin Pilot Tyre Compound
The Pilot range features 2CT compound technology i.e. it uses different rubber compound on shoulder and the centre of the tyre. This ensures enhanced grip levels and improved handling in varied weather conditions. Besides this, the harder center compound aids in lessening of uneven wear, even under test riding conditions. Due to unique rubber compound amalgamation Pilot series tyres, which are available as front and rear wheel fitment, give out their best performance under urban and rugged conditions. The evenly balanced rubber compound structure ensures better safety in terms of ride and handling.Â
Michelin Pilot Tyre Construction Type
The tyres under the Pilot portfolio consists of bias ply as well as radial construction tyres. Here the Pilot Sporty tyres comes with bias ply construction, while the Michelin Pilot Road 2, Michelin Pilot Road 4 and Michelin Pilot Street tyres stand on radial construction. The semi-slick tread design which is inspired from high-performance Michelin motorcycle tyres guarantees superior stability and proficiency in braking. Moreover, the wider tread groove pattern aids in enhanced water dispersal thus providing better wet grip. The flexible side walls offer better shock absorption capabilities keeping the road surface abnormalities at bay.Â
