Hi,
I own a Swift VXi 2007 model. My current size is d regular one R14 165 80. Can I upgrade it to R15 185 60 ? After upgrade is the fuel economy affected?
Please let me know the above 2 things.
Thanks in advance
Dear Feeroz,
Upgrading to 185/60 R15 wouldn’t actually be an up-size if that is what you are going for as the difference percentage is the -2.9%(negative) which means it is actually a down-size as although the width of the tyre has increased along with the rim size, the sidewall height has decreased. Our recommendation would be for you to opt for the 185/65 R15 tyres. Now, these tyres what a difference percentage of 0.4% which is better because it will not be compromising the sidewall height. Please follow link to explore options for the same: https://www.tyremarket.com/Search/Car-Tyres/185-65-R15 . Please note that any change made to any cars stock tyres will have a change in performance in terms of acceleration & fuel consumption on the basic but the trick is to keep the difference within 3% so that there will be a performance change only in decimals and will not make any huge impact.
Thanks

we do not recommend shifting to this size. It may cause additional wear and tear to the vehicle’s suspension and brake components which will cause other mechanical issues and can adversely affect the vehicle’s handling. Also your speedometer and odometer readings will also be affected.
