Hyundai Motors India is a South Korean auto giant and the third largest auto manufacturer in the world. The company launched the first generation model of Hyundai Xcent sedan in India back in 2014. The car, which was basically Hyundai’s first attempt in the sub-4 meter compact sedan segment, managed to grab the attention of the buyers. Hyundai Xcent was built on the underpinnings of the Hyundai Grand i10 hatch. After three years of fighting a hard battle with Maruti, Hyundai finally decided to bring forth a facelift version of Xcent. The 2017 model seems to get entirely new styling along with added equipments. The new version is slightly based on the Hyundai’s 2.0 Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy. This time refreshed 2017 Hyundai Xcent has been adorned with fascinating looks, heavier feature list and bigger diesel heart. This has been done to bring it in line with Hyundai’s current family and more importantly, ensuring it is better equipped to deal with the newly arrived all new Maruti Dzire.
Hyundai Xcent Tyres
Hyundai Xcent is available in 5 variants viz; E, E+, S, SX and SX (O). Hyundai Xcent car tyres come in 2 different sizes; the 165/65 R 14 radial tubeless and the 175/60 R 15 radial tubeless. Where the R14 features clean silver alloy wheels available in the SX model, the R 15 gets Diamond cut alloy wheels available in the top-end SX (O) variant. Hyundai Xcent mid- trims E+ and S come with full wheel covers.

Hyundai has played it safe with Xcent facelift. The car appears quite chic and new diesel mill improves its drivability. Another interesting aspect is the price, which hasn’t seen a significant hike, making it value for money proposition. Being a compact sedan, it continues to compete in the sub-4 meter arena against Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, VW Ameo, Ford Aspire and Tata Tigor.
The exterior shell is kept same as the old vehicle but Hyundai has gone to great lengths to make it stand-out in competition. Hyundai Xcent now gets large hexagonal radiator grille and wide looking air-dam. Since the body cover is same, its profile looks identical to the predecessor however the rear gets an all-new tail design to make it emerge unique.
Hyundai Xcent carries the same interiors but with huge improvements. It gets 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with steering mounted audio control, automatic climate control and rear AC vents. In terms of safety, the car features, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, central locking and engine immobilizer.
Under the hood, Hyundai Xcent gets improved 1.2 L diesel mill that now generates the power output of 74 bhp at 4000 rpm and peak torque of 190 Nm at 1750-2250 rpm. The 1.2 L petrol engine, on the other hand, is capable of producing the output of 82 bhp at 6000 rpm and torque of 114 Nm at 4000 rpm.
Hyundai Xcent Price
Hyundai Xcent 2017 is a welcome change with the base model seeing a price cut. Price range for Hyundai Xcent models starts from Rs. 5.39 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 8.42 Lakh. Its base petrol trim E gets the price tag of Rs. 5.39 Lakh and mid variants E+ and S are priced at Rs. 5.94 Lakh and Rs. 6.29 Lakh respectively. The top-end model SX and SX (O) model tagged at Rs. 6.73 Lakh and Rs. 7.49 Lakh witness a slight hike but the package one get with the price is pretty good. Hyundai Xcent is available with an automatic gearbox as well with the price tag of Rs. 7.09 Lakh. Diesel variants start from Rs. 6.31 Lakh, with E+ priced as Rs. 6.87 Lakh. Hyundai Xcent’s top-selling diesel S variant is priced at Rs. 7.22 Lakh. SX and SX (O) are available at Rs. 7.66 Lakh and Rs. 8.42 Lakh respectively.

If your current tyre size is 165/65 R14, then both the tyre sizes that you have mentioned – 185/70 R14 and 185/65 R14 are aggressive upsize options and would not be recommended. They will cause adverse effects on your mileage, stability and will show wrong speedometer/odometer readings.
