In this article, we list the top upcoming cars of 2021 that every motorhead should know.


  1. Tata Altroz EV

Tata unveiled at an auto expo in 2020 the electrical avatar of Altroz premium hatchback—Tata Altroz EV—and piqued the interest of electric car lovers. Tata Altroz EV will have Tata’s Ziptron powertrain, which is claimed to be better integrated than most premium EVs in the market. The hatchback is expected to inherit its design and power features from the regular Altroz but will have larger tyres. It may also wear a sportier look. There will be a 30.2-kWh liquid-cooled, IP67-certified lithium-ion battery in Tata Altroz EV, which is touted to generate around 100 bhp of power.

The launch of Tata Altroz EV has been postponed to around July 2021 or year-end owing to the pandemic and will be priced starting at around Rs 11 lakhs.

Hyundai Sonata

The latest eighth-generation Sonata gets Hyundai’s fluidic 2.0 design details that render a radiant profile, a wider stance, and a modern cabin. Hyundai teased its fans with a “leaked” image, revealing the front and rear profiles of the car. The new-generation Sonata is expected to be powered by a 2.0-L GDI four-cylinder gasoline motor with a 360-V electric engine, which is further mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission to produce 202 hp of power at 6,000 rpm. The latest Hyundai Sonata is expected to be more powerful than the earlier version.

Eighth-generation Hyundai Sonata is expected to cost Rs. 20.77 lakhs and is set to be launched between October and December 2021.

With BS6-compliance, the brand new Force Motors Gurkha BS6 is set to launch in the second quarter of 2021. The new model takes design cues for LED DRLs, LED indicators, and tailgate-mounted spare wheel from Mercedes-Ben G-Class. Force Motors Gurkha BS6 will be equipped with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox. The interiors of Force Motors Gurkha BS6 is expected to undergo an overhaul with a black dashboard, three-spoke steering wheel, circular air vents, and a touchscreen infotainment system. Force Motors Gurkha BS6 may give a tough competition to Mahindra’s new-generation Thar.

Force Motors Gurkha BS6 is likely to be retailed from Rs 9.99 lakhs to Rs 13.30 lakhs and is expected to be launched in June 2021.
