Tata Indica is a car of many “Firsts”, it was launched by a major Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors in 1998, with a caption of “More Car Per Car”. Tata Indica is the first passenger car from Tata Motors and is widely regarded as the first indigenously developed passenger car in Indian. It went on to gain the #1 position in its prime time in early 2000s in the Indian automobile market. Over a Million units of Indica have been sold so far. The Indica models were also exported to many European and African countries with South Africa being the largest importer. It was a five door concept which offered air conditioning and electric windows. It was also showcased in Great Britain as badged version of CityRover. As far as the body design was concerned, it was designed by the Italian design house I.DE.A Institute, but the engine was indigenously designed. Launched into two different phases, it upgraded itself with various facelifts and mechanical finish, which still stands its ground amid competition from other small car manufacturers. In the Indian Auto Market, the company offers only diesel variants.
TATA INDICA CAR TYRES: Tata Indica comes with radial tubeless tyres. The tyre size for LX variant (BS III & IV) is 165/65 R14. For Tata Indica LS BS IV, the tyre size is 155/80 R13 (for both front and rear tyre sizes). For BS3 complaint vehicles the tyres used are of the size – 155/80 R13. And, the Tata Indica emax comes with a tyre size of 155/80 R13.

Tata Indica has been timely refurbished by Tata Motors. Although today, it is not a preferred four wheeler for personal use by the masses, but it is widely used by taxi operators owing to its excellent mileage. Powered with the refined CR4 diesel engine that delivers 25 kmpl with a fuel tank capacity of 37 ltrs. With a displacement of 1,396 cc, Indica produces a maximum torque of 140 NM @ 1,800 – 3,000 rpm (for BS4 LS, LX) and 85 NM @ 2,500 rpm (for BS3 LS, LX). Well suited to the Indian road conditions it comes with a ground clearance of 165 mm with the boot space of 220 ltrs.
In the Indian Auto market, Tata Indica is considered as one of the most affordable hatchbacks for its reasonable price range of INR 5.43 – 5.94 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom Delhi).
In the year 2013, Tata launched the CNG version of Indica named as Tata Indica emax with a CNG capacity of 60 ltrs. Having an engine capacity of 1,193 cc. Indica’s list of rivals include Ford Figo, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i10, Maruti Wagon R, among others.

The OE fitted tyre size for Tata Indica 2007 model is 165/65R14. You can change it with 155/80R13, but with these tyres you also need to change the rim of your vehicle. Changing a rim will cost you more.

no, we would not recommend going for that size option. If you are only looking for a 14″ rim, then 195/60 R14 & 175/65 R14 are suitable options.
