The Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli & C. S.p.A. is known for doing things differently, and this time they have done one of the most unexpected things. The Italian tyre manufacturing giant is licensing and debuting the P Zero sound speaker. Yes, you heard it right, Pirelli has manufactured a speaker based on a half-size replica of its famed P Zero racing tyre that is used by F1 teams on half-size model cars for aerodynamic wind tunnel testing. The speaker’s manufacturer, iXoost is also based in Italy, and over the years has garnered a reputation for manufacturing motorsports-themed speaker systems. The speaker looks exactly like a tyre except for the fact that it is not a real rubber racing tyre.
Specifications of the P Zero Sound Speaker:
The P Zero Sound weighs about 9.5 kg, it features a 6.5 inches aluminium rim framing a 2.5 cm silk tweeter and 110 cm of mid/bass driver. They are driven by 100 watts of power. The speaker also has Bluetooth 4.0 with AptX for wireless connectivity.
While the tyres are naturally black in colour, for these speakers buyers can opt for the graphics in yellow, orange, red, blue, green, ice blue, purple, white or pink. You can also choose among hard, intermediate and soft tyre treads.
The P Zero Sound has enough power to keep you entertained in the garage, but what may get in the way of it gaining the popularity is its fairly high price tag of 2,400 Euros (around INR 1,92,000), much more than a real Pirelli Tyre.
