In recent times, tyre industry has witnessed many car and truck/bus tyre makers foray into the most tempting two-wheeler tyre segment in the country. And the latest to join this bandwagon is Japanese tyre major, Bridgestone Corporation. Bridgestone India has launched a new motorcycles and scooters tyres brand ‘NERUN’ in the country.
Bridgestone India, MD Mr Kazuhiko Mimura stated that the launch of this new two-wheeler tyre brand NERUN is a giant leap for the company in India, with which, the company will definitely achieve their planned expansion that aims to serve the ever growing market volume and attain a wide audience reach. Tyre major’s access into the high volume two-wheeler market will help the firm offer a wide range of products and services to its customers, he further added.
The tyre moghul stated that being one of the largest and fastest growing automobile markets across the globe makes India the leading consumer of tyres, and when it comes to volume sales, two-wheeler is the most thriving segment in the automobile arena. Rising with a CAGR of 8.5% in India, there are about 150 million two-wheelers plying on the roads reflecting the immense potential of tyre demand, the company said.
In 2002, Bridgestone made its way into the Grand Prix motorcycle racing called ‘MotoGP’, the highest motorcycle racing category in the world, and was the only motorcycle tyre supplier to event.
Japanese brand’s Indian arm Bridgestone India manufactures passenger vehicle tyres, truck and bus radials, etc.
