JK Tyres Begin Radial Tyres Export From New Mangalore Port

Listed among the country’s leading tyre manufacturers, JK tyres commenced the export of tyres through the New Mangalore Port. The coming together of the tyre major at Mysore and the new port is largely credited to the Port administration’s initiative of aggressive business advertisement drive.

After convincing the top management with their long drawn out business initiatives, the Port management was able to encourage the tyre firm to start their export operations through the New Mangalore Port. Consequently, the trial shipment of 40-ft high cube container was the initial consignment that was exported from Mangaluru. At first, the container was stuffed with the goods at the Mysore plant and after that, on 18th June, it was dispatched on the vessel, M V TIGER Goman, as stated by Mr. YR Belagal, the traffic manager at New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT). The consignment was flagged-off for Manzanillo port in Mexico. The Port was confident of the increased volume of shipments via New Mangalore Port in coming days as assured by JK Tyres, Mr. Belagal confirmed.

A division of parent JK Organisation group, the tyre brand will soon be seen supplying bulk quantity of the radial tyres for stuffing purpose at the NMPT, and thus getting the cost advantage. After the successful beginning of the export operations, the New Mangalore Port administration conveyed their gratification to the company and the customs commissioner. Moreover, the Port also thanked the clearing and forwarding agents, MSC Lines and Cargolinks, for their effective handling of the new consignment.

Recently, to promote port operations and to drive-in more business, NMPT had arranged a customer interaction conference with the exporters in Mysore.
