JK Tyre Launches ‘Smart Tyre’ at the Auto Expo 2020

India’s popular tyre maker, JK Tyre recently launched it’s ‘Smart Tyre’ range at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020. With the launch of this revolutionary ‘Smart Tyre’ range, the tyre maker now becomes first in the Indian tyre industry to introduce technology-driven tyres.

JK Smart Tyres have a cloud-based monitoring system that ensures proper maintenance of tyres via timely diagnostics. For this, the tyres use sensors that are integrated with Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). These sensors supplement tyre health updates through various digital platforms of the company such as TREEL Care app and web page.

Early detection of issues in tyres and timely remedy through the Smart Tyre technology augments protection and also leads to delivering increased fuel efficiency by up to 4-5%, thus reducing the carbon emission. With this technology, the tyre’s overall life is increased along with a reduction in the operational expenses.

The Smart Tyre monitors all the key aspects of a tyre and shows some very crucial statistics such as tyre pressure and temperature. This information is communicated on a real-time basis on the vehicle owner’s smartphone through Bluetooth on to a phone application. In addition, through this sensor-enabled technology, a customer can regularly maintain the recommended tyre pressure of his vehicles, thus experiencing a safer ride and contributing to a healthy environment.

JK’s Smart Tyre technology is available for cars, bikes, buses and trucks. The company offers it in 3 variants for cars, which are:

  • Smart Tyre Sensor Car Kit: Valve
  • MTrac Smart Sensor Car & Truck Kit: Valve
  • MPower Smart Sensor Car Kit: Valve

Likewise, there are two variants available for bikes too, which are:

  • Smart Tyre Sensor Bike Kit: Belt
  • MTrac Smart Sensor Bike Kit: Belt

Dr Raghupati Singhania, Managing Director and Chairman, JK Tyre expressed his views at the launch. He mentioned that JK is committed towards technology and innovation. He also added that as JK Tyre leads the Indian tyre industry, the company has once again introduced a remarkable product in the form of ‘Smart Tyre’ as part of its promise to offer its customers advanced mobility solutions.

Mr Singhania said that this technology will provide an added value proposition to vehicle owners and will especially benefit the fleet owners by reducing their operational costs.
