Goodyear Introduces Assurance DuraPlus 2 and Wrangler AT SilentTrac for Cars and SUVs Respectively One of the leading tyre manufacturers, Goodyear recently launched its new range of products for cars and SUVs. After a much-deserved success of the Assurance DuraPlus in 2016, the company launched Assurance DuraPlus 2 as its successor, for small to medium passenger cars. Powered with TredLife Technology, the Assurance DuraPlus 2 offers a mileage of upto 1,10,000 kms. TredLife Technology is meant to ensure better fuel efficiency and quieter performance.
With an innovative tread design and added dampening rubber strips, Assurance DuraPlus 2 is available in nine sizes between 13 inches to 15 inches rim diameters. Designed for Indian roads, the Assurance DuraPlus 2 comes with an enhanced sidewall for better safety against Indian roads. Assurance DuraPlus 2 is compatible with passenger car models like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Datsun Go, Maruti Suzuki Alto, Hyundai Grand i10 and Hyundai Santro.
Unveiled alongside Assurance DuraPlus 2, the Wrangler AT SilentTrac is meant for the adventurous SUV drivers. The latter is said to be designed to offer great on-road and off-road handling performance. Powered by the DuraWall Technology, Wrangler AT SilentTrac ensures smooth off-roading against tears and cuts. It comes with improved rigid shoulder blocks and an optimised tread pattern design for a noise-free driving experience on the toughest roads. And all of it comes with excellent mileage. Offered in rim diameters ranging between 15 inches to 17 inches, Wrangler AT SilentTrac is meant for various SUVs like Mahindra Bolero, Tata Harrier, Renault Duster, etc.

Unveiling the new products at the event, Goodyear India’s Chairman and MD, Mr. Rajeev Anand said that Goodyear has always been at the forefront of innovation, and continues to push itself to offer a wide portfolio of new offerings for different market segments. He further added that the company constantly challenge itself to develop better products and empower consumers with top-notch driving experience.
Commenting on the ongoing crisis in the auto sector, Mr. Rajeev Anand, Chairman and MD, Goodyear India said that the current slowdown is a temporary cyclical phenomenon and that it isn’t something structural that would disturb the entire setup. He further added that the current slowdown is unlikely to lead to any job cut situation within the organisation in the near future.
Speaking at the event, Mr. P.K. Walia, V. P. Consumer Business for Goodyear India, said that the company is committed to Safety, Innovation and Product in that order. “We are working with several carmakers at the moment. Our recent association is with MG for Hector SUV. However, this year, the company is not planning to make any new launches in the farm segment category but we are working on quite a few variants”, he added.
Founded in the year 1898, Goodyear ventured into the Indian market in 1922. One of the global leaders in tyre manufacturing, Goodyear was the first to introduce tubeless tyres in India. Goodyear ranked no. 1 in customer satisfaction in the small car segment by the J D Power 2019 Tyre Customer Satisfaction Index in June 2019.
