The ExtremeContact XC7 tyre is available in sizes ranging from 17 to 20 inches and fits luxury cars and SUVs.
One of the world’s leading automotive component makers, Continental has come up with a brand new flagship tyre range. The new tyre is called the ExtremeContact XC7 and is targeted towards SUVs and crossovers. Interestingly, this tyre range is the first to have both ContiSilent and ContiSeal technologies. These technologies make this tyre offer customers self-sealing and noise-reduction capabilities.
According to the German tyre giant, the ExtremeContact XC7 is specifically designed to offer more comfort and enhance travel safety for drivers. ContiSeal’s sticky sealant helps in repairing 80% of punctures as the sealant instantly plugs holes up to 5mm, effectively. As per Continental, the self-healing capability works in a wide range of temperatures throughout the tyre’s lifetime. The company claims it works from -35℃ to 70℃. This is something that the customers would love to have in the tyres they are opting for SUVs.
On the other hand, with ContiSilent technology, the tyre’s cavity noise is reduced to a good extent. This becomes possible because of a built-in foam and sealant that reduces tyre noise and offers a quieter ride.
To make sure that this product is readily available in the Chinese market, Continental has partnered with Tuhu. Tuhu is China’s largest online auto retail platform. This partnership would facilitate Continental leveraging Tuhu’s comprehensive user base and cater to customer demands in a much better way.
Speaking about the ExtremeContact XC7 tyres, Tolga Mutlu, head of product management, at Continental Tyres APAC, said, these tyres would offer drivers a more comfortable and safer driving experience. He emphasised that the ContiSeal Self-Sealing Technology used in the production of this tyre range continuously enhances the safety of the passengers and this is a world-recognised technology.
This tyre addresses the apprehensions related to safety, something common in many regions of China that experience wet conditions. The new tyre incorporates Aqua Channel Advanced surface sipes to efficiently disperse water, enhancing wet road grip. The tyre maker explains that the tyre’s zig-zag grooves and Blade Edge Pattern design further optimise wet traction by minimising slippage.
