French tyre giant Michelin has come up with a new lineup of tyres for Harley-Davidson motorcycles in India. The Michelin Scorcher tyres, which are currently a part of the original equipment on Harley-Davidson Street, Harley-Davidson Dyna, Harley-Davidson V-Rod and Harley-Davidson Sportster series motorcycles, will now be made available as an aftermarket fitment in the country. At present, Michelin Scorcher 11 and Michelin Scorcher 31 are fitted as standard equipment on Harley-Davidson bikes. The Michelin Scorcher range of tyres consists of six Michelin Scorcher tyres that will be sold exclusively at the Michelin tyre dealers and Harley-Davidson network in India.

The premium tyres from the tyre technology leader are equipped with the Amplified Density Technology (ADT). The ADT features high-rigidity levels and high-density carcass for superior traction and response from the tyre. The high performance Michelin Scorcher 31 has been approved of late as an accessory fitment for the Harley-Davidson touring range. Especially designed and engineered for the Harley-Davidson bike enthusiasts in India, the Michelin Scorcher 31 tyres are the first radial tyres for the Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Moreover, the Michelin Scorcher 11 are intended for Harley-Davidson Sportster SuperLow, Harley-Davidson XR 1200, Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle and Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special models.
The Michelin Scorcher 11 series has got Aramid tread plies in its construction which offers weight reduction and resistance against centrifugal growth. As per the company, the tyres use Michelin’s Silica Rain Technology (SRT) and are claimed to provide enhanced wet traction performance. On the other hand, the Michelin Scorcher 31 boasts highly hydrophobic tread design, which helps water to disperse and offers improved road hold capability.
