Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), India’s leading utility vehicle manufacturing giant introduced Xylo in the year 2009. Soon it became a hit and started dominating the Indian car market with its rugged yet stylish appeal. After a while, due to intense rising competition in the segment, its sales started to tumble. And therefore to stay in the race, Mahindra launched the updated model of Xylo MUV in the year 2012. Furthermore, the third generation model of Mahindra Xylo MUV was presented with refreshed exteriors and updated interiors in 2014. Mahindra Xylo has been an exceptional product for the utility king. With the time, Mahindra has infused latest features such as chrome highlights, side body graphics, comfort drive technology, 60:40 rear split, new instrument cluster and black & beige interior theme and others. Xylo manoeuvres well in the city limits and offers better handling under off-road environment. The aggressive looking MUV has got two powerful diesel engine choices under the hood, which comprise of 2.5-litre MDI CRDe and 2.2-litre mHawk.
MAHINDRA XYLO TYRES
Mahindra Xylo is offered in four different trims that include D2, D4, H4 and H8. Mahindra Xylo tyre size of the base trim D2 is 205/65 R15 radial tubeless one and the same is available in D4 variant as well. On the other hand, its mid and top-end model H4 and H8 are equipped with 215/75 R15 radial tubeless tyres. Mahindra Xylo car tyre features silver painted rims in D2, while the D4 and H4 trims come fitted with wheel covers. The top-end model H8 is adorned with chunky alloy wheels.

Mahindra Xylo is slightly an inexpensive people mover designed to offer a decent mix of features, comfort and practicality. When the MPV was launched, it was pitted against Toyota Innova, but due to the increased price bracket of the latter, today Mahindra Xylo competes against Honda Mobilio, Renault Lodgy and Maruti Ertiga. The stylish looking Xylo offers a perfect amalgamation of driving pleasure and occupant comfort with its spacious and well-appointed interiors.
Besides its standout exterior features that comprise of the aggressive grille with chrome slates and integrated fog lamps, some other attributes include airbags, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, digital information system, engine immobilizer, Digital Drive Assist System (DDAS) and central locking. Moreover, notable high-tech elements come in the form of voice command technology, 2-DIN Music System, steering mounted audio and cruise control.
Under the hood, Mahindra Xylo is available with two diesel engine options. Power is sourced from 2.5 litres MDI CRDe 2489cc diesel mill that produces 95 PS at 3600 rpm and peak torque of 218 Nm at 1400-2600 rpm. Whereas, the 2179cc mHAWK motor generates a power of 120 PS at 4000 rpm and yields a peak torque of 280 Nm at 2400-2800 rpm. Both the engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Mahindra Xylo Price
Mahindra Xylo is value for money offering, it provides adequate comfort and space at a reasonable price point. Its base variant D2 is tagged at Rs 8.93 lakh, while the D4 that sits just above the base model is priced at Rs. 9.6 lakh. Another mid-variant H4 is priced at Rs 9.83 lakh, while its ABS model is tagged at Rs 10.22 lakh. Mahindra Xylo top-end H8 variant is priced at Rs 10.69 Lakh and 11.72 lakh (ABS with airbags). All prices are of ex-showroom, Delhi.
