One of the world’s leading SUV tyre makers, Yokohama Rubber Company, has recently announced that it will introduce the new ADVAN V61 tyre. This high-performance tyre is designed specifically for premium SUVs under Yokohama’s ADVAN tyre brand, the company’s global flagship brand. The new tyre, targeted at midsize to big premium SUV customers, will be available worldwide starting next month. However, the company has announced that this product will not be available in North America from February onwards.
The Japanese tyre maker has plans to introduce this tyre in 17 sizes. This will range from 17 to 22 inches. These tyres will also be offered as original equipment (OE) on new vehicles.

This tyre will come as OE for premium SUVs like Mazda CX-80 and Lexus RX in the foreign market. It will also be coming as a viable option for the Indian market SUVs such as Audi A3, BMW 3 series, etc. In the future, Yokohama has plans to expand this tyre range to the general market. The ADVAN V61 tyres are developed using Yokohama’s proprietary technologies. It is utilising the company HAICoLab (An acronym for “Humans and AI Collaborate” for digital innovation) framework.
Precision improvements led to an optimised tyre design with enhanced tread pattern, profile, and structure. A custom compound, created using Yokohama’s A.R.T. Mixing technology offers a balance of fuel efficiency, grip, wear resistance, handling, and comfort.
Yokohama’s medium-term plan (2024–2026), YX2026, is focused on improving sales of high-value tyres, including the ADVAN brand, GEOLANDAR for SUVs, winter tyres, and larger sizes (18 inches and more). The Japanese company is also in the process of tailoring products and strategies to meet regional market trends across the globe.
