Metro Tyres Unveils Radial Motorcycle Tyres In India

The homegrown largest exporter of bicycle tyres, Metro Tyres now seeks to spread its wings across different verticals in the Indian market. The brand has lately introduced radial two-wheeler tyres for motorcycles. Metro Tyres’ Managing Director, Mr. Rummy Chhabra launched the all-new radial tyres at an event. These tyres are made available at tyre firm’s select dealerships across the country. The premium motorcycle tyres will cater to the 150cc entry-level segment and the mid-weight motorcycle segment of 200-250cc together with high performance sports bikes capacity in India.

The latest series of tyres have been designed and developed at the company’s high-tech manufacturing unit located in Ludhiana, Punjab. Metro Tyres will make investments worth Rs 300 crores for upgrading this production plant, increasing the present capacity and for the addition of upcoming Research and Development (R&D) units. Since the year 1999, the domestic tyre firm is into a technical collaboration with German tyre giant Continental AG for making tyres that match global standards. With localisation levels as high as 90 percent, alongside solid investments and robust collaboration, all these factors will make the brand a prime contender of the first-class tyre segment.

The main USP of Metro radial motorcycle tyres is that they are bestowed with sidewalls that are flexible and possess high tread firmness, which leads to the comfortable ride and better fuel economy. The rigid tread lessens the tyre rolling resistance which results in higher mileage of the vehicle. Another aspect that makes this radial tyre stand out is the flatter tread radius which allows a bigger road surface contact, enhanced stability and extra safety at high speeds.
