The campaign ‘women in front’ is launched by Maxxis and Lets Ryde to empower and encourage women riders to experience the thrill of riding bikes on their own.
New Delhi, December 22, 2018: Maxxis India, a sub-company of Maxxis Group, one of the world’s fastest growing tyre companies and the largest two-wheeler tyre manufacturer, recently announced a tie-up with Lets Ryde. It is a motorcycle rental tour/adventure company based in Delhi that frequently organises theme based biking campaigns both in India as well as overseas. Both Maxxis and Lets Ryde have announced a unique initiative called Women in Front – Riders Training Academy, for Wo/men, by Women at the ongoing Riders’ Music Festival which is organised to promote the spirit of bikers and music.
Mr Bing-Lin Wu, Marketing & Retail Sales Head, Maxxis India who was present on this occasion mentioned that ‘women in front’ is a unique opportunity that will allow women bikers to enjoy the thrill of riding and improve their biking skills through long biking campaigns. This program is especially meant to encourage Indian women as it motivates to enjoy the thrill of riding bikes on their own thereby breaking the gender stereotype attached with biking. He further added that Maxxis India has a strong biking DNA and therefore they believe that superior performance and safety of bike riding are the two sides of the same coin. Furthermore, he expressed his view that through this unique campaign, they wish to equip the women with the necessary training and essential safety practices which will enable them to take the initiative of riding a bike without any fear or hesitation.
Mr Amit & Mr Kuldeep, the Co-founders of Lets Ryde, who were present on this occasion commented that a motorcycle is a symbol of freedom and individuality, and they are committed to empowering Indian women and helping them to be self-sufficient in riding motorbikes. He also added that this initiative would also emphasize on gender equality.
The lead trainer who will teach the womenn bikers different aspects of bike riding is Mr Shahnawaz Karim, who has the distinction of being India’s only International Instructors Academy (IIA Germany) certified International adventure and enduro riding trainer. Mr Shahnawaz Karim is based out of Delhi-NCR and has trained over 100+ riders from BMW Motorrad, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Kawasaki, Bajaj and KTM across India. He is assisted by the associate trainer Jaswinder Kaur, who is also a solo and group rider. She has more than 12 years of biking experience and in the past has worked with brands like Ducati.
The training program is planned in steps, in the first stage, there is a 4-day workshop. Those women who have registered for the program will be trained (both practically as well as theoretically) about bike control, track practice and lastly breakfast ride with the group. In this process, the women bikers will also learn how to change the tyres, filters and oil on their own. This will give them great confidence in their abilities to deal with a multitude of mechanical issues during an emergency. When the riders clear this foundation level of training, the academy will give them a chance to have more advanced biking experience. Among these is the biking expedition to Manali and getting trained in advance biking techniques. The training will culminate with the fully sponsored dream biking expedition to Leh and Ladakh for the selected bikers chosen from each batch, post evaluation by the trainers.
The registration process for this program has already started and the training session for the first batch will commence from January. Maxxis and Lets Ryde will also sponsor the Riders Music Festival at JLN Stadium, New Delhi, where the interested women bikers can get discounts and add-ons for on-the-spot registrations.
