Maruti Suzuki, the household name in India, which has garnered much attention with Swift and Swift Dzire is now planning to launch its next-generation compact sedan Swift Dzire between April and May, 2017. According to a report from NDTV, the leading car manufacturer will introduce its compact sedan Dzire ahead of the hatchback Swift. Both the Swift Dzire and Swift will not be sold through the NEXA retail chain but rather through regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships. The new-gen Swift, as it is expected, might be showcased at the 2017 Geneva Motor show.

Under the hood, the New Swift Dzire 2017 is expected to get a 1.2 Lts. K – series petrol engine and 1.3 Lts. DDiS diesel engine. It is also expected that the 2017 Swift Dzire will get a set of projector headlamps and a new grille at the front and LED tail lamps at the rear. Inside the cabin, the car will feature a new overhauled touchscreen infotainment system compatible with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Anticipations are also that the Swift and Swift Dzire might receive the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology too, although it has not been confirmed by the company yet.

The company, Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch 9 models by the end of 2017, or by the end of March 2018. These models will include Maruti Ignis, Maruti Baleno RS, next-gen Swift & Swift Dzire, updated S-Cross and the Jimny.

Maruti Suzuki in November 2016, registered a growth of 10.8 per cent in its compact segment (less than 4 metres in length) sales which includes Swift, Swift Dzire, Celerio, Ritz and Baleno. The manufacturer sold 49,431 units in November 2016, as compared to 44,626 units in the same month last year.
