JK Tyre To Be The Official Title Sponsor For VROOM Second Edition

India’s leading tyre maker JK Tyre has bagged the official title sponsorship rights of the upcoming 2016 Vroom Drag Race to be held at Jakkur Aerodrome, Bengaluru. The second edition of the most celebrated event among the drag race aficionados and admirers is scheduled on the 15th and 16th October 2016. The event is expected to be witnessed by more than 500 participants and over 1000 spectators. Besides the modified Indian cars and bikes, the stunning extravaganza will also feature power bolstered international cars and superbikes of renowned brands. The registrations are open since 25th August 2016 and will close on 10th October 2016.

Vroom is a platform where enthusiasts from all over the country are up to showcase their top class machines alongside their sheer ability to set afire the finish line in record time in this quarter mile race. The two-day drag meet event conducted in a closed door arena is approved by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). Some of the custom-made supercars attractions include Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston, Nissan GTR, EVO, Porsche, Masserati, while the list of superbikes with serious upgrades read names like Kawasaki, Suzuki, BMW, Yamaha, Honda etc.

When it comes to motorsport racing JK Tyre has always been a forerunner. In 1997, it launched the single seat racing championship series named JK Tyre Racing Championship (JKTRC). Moreover, in the year 2000, it introduced JK Tyre National 4-stroke Karting Championship, which was held in select 6 cities with one Grand Finale. And of late, it has been 13th JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Karting Championship, Round 5, which is held at Kolhapur, Maharashtra and is scheduled from 23rd to 25th September 2016.

My need for speed began at a very early age and I realised this as soon as I got my first bicycle at the age of 8. When all the other kids would break downhill I would pedal harder just to go faster and enjoy the thrill. Adding to my interest for speed, I grew engrossed in the working mechanics of two wheelers thanks to my father as he is a hydraulic mechanic and would take me along with him on his repair sessions. Eventually I became familiar with the tools and basic technical concepts of two wheelers.Super sport and sport tourers are more of my liking and the sparks to these flames were ignited the first time I experienced the maddening power of a Yamaha YZF R1. I was just 14 years old at the time and got to ride as a pillion with an older acquaintance. This one short ride influenced my every decision in terms of the bikes I want to own. As of today I’m 26 years old and a proud owner of a Yamaha Fz15 version 2.0 and a Kawasaki Ninja 650 2014 model having clocked a decent 30k Kms only while touring, waiting to clock 1000s more as riding makes me feel whole again after enduring the dismal routines of life.
