It seems that the wait for the motorbike enthusiasts looking for green and more efficient alternative to current fuel-gulping motorbikes is over. Here comes the Tork T6X, India’s first indigenously developed premium electric motorcycle. The stunning battery-operated two-wheeler is tagged with an introductory price of INR 1.25 lakh. Powered by lithium ion batteries and fitted with “CEAT TUBELESS TYRES” of size 100/80-17 front and 120/80-17 rear, the T6X will be initially launched in three major cities of the country i.e. Delhi, Bangalore and Pune, where bookings are now open. The green motorcycle is capable of attaining a top speed of 100 km/hr and can run up to 100 kilometers on a single charge.
An initiative of Tork Motors, a Pune-based electric bike start-up, the electric motorcycle is packed with plethora of premium features such as full digital display, on board navigation, storage, cloud connectivity, quick charge function and superior acceleration. The technically advanced motorcycle gets charged up to 80 percent in an hour, while for full charge it takes two hours. Depending upon the usage the battery life is claimed to last up to 80,000 km to 1,00,000 km. Available in three vibrant shade choices, the e-bike can be synced with rider’s android or iOS phone via Tork’s application, which helps to convey the battery volume left, range service reminders and customized riding modes.
Based on the custom Trellis frame, the premium electric motorcycle weights 130 kg and carries a good ground clearance of 160 mm, while the length, width, height and wheelbase measures 1960 mm, 784 mm, 1085 mm and 1,336mm respectively. Moreover, for safety concerns the Tork T6X is equipped with class leading protection features like day-time running lights, ABS, CDS, geo fencing and anti-theft. With telescopic front forks and spring loaded hydraulic rear suspension, it is equipped to proffer smooth ride under bumpy conditions. Tork Motors is working on charging infrastructure in the target markets. As of now, Tork Motors has established six charging points in Pune city and intends to take the number of charging points to 100 by year end in Pune.
