The South Korean tyre maker, Hankook, has recently launched its second generation electric vehicle tyre called Kinergy AS EV. This second generation tyre is specifically designed to offer better handling and noise reduction. Kinergy AS EV features advanced technology and is tipped to be an ideal partner for the modern electric vehicles.
Due to heavier bodies, lower engine noise and higher initial acceleration than their fuel-based counterparts, electric vehicles require specially designed tyres which complement these features. The Kinergy AS EV is suitable for electric vehicles and provides supreme driving performance that is comparable with ultra-high performance tyres.
The tyre has Aqua Pine compound, it is a resin that comprises environment-friendly vegetable oil and is extracted from conifers. The compound improves performance on wet roads and offers agile handling as well as braking in various conditions. This enhances driving stability while reducing tyre slip and minimizing tread abrasion to deliver the power of the electric motor and initial acceleration with no loss.
According to the company, by launching the second generation electric vehicle tyre that features consolidated international top-tier technology, it is providing customers a perfect environment for using more electric vehicles.
At present, the Kinergy AS EV tyres will be sold in South Korea at the retail level. However, the tyre maker has plans of offering these tyres throughout the world by 2019.
