Hankook Tyres – “Driving Emotions”
The Hankook Tyre group is a South Korean company based in Seoul established in the year of 1941. Initially, it was named as Chosun Tire Company and later renamed as “Hankook” which means Korea in Korean language. Based on a commitment to technology and quality that has served as a foothold for their operation since past seven decades, they have established their name in the tyre manufacturing world claiming 7th position in the world’s largest tyre manufacturing companies list. They are available in 180 countries across the globe.
Hankook Tyre has earned a unique reputation due to its radial tyre and bias-ply tyre production. They have forayed into various arenas such as Passenger cars, SUV, Light Trucks and Competition tyres.
The company also supplies tyres to various automakers. In addition to selling tyres, the company is also engaged in selling batteries, alloy wheels and brake pads. In order to expand their presence in the tyre manufacturing market and to become the 5th largest tyre manufacturing company in the world they have planned to open a company in Indonesia that will act as a regional hub of production for exports to Asia, North America and Middle Eastern countries. Further, there are plans to set up a factory in Tennessee by 2016.
With their base in Seoul they have set up their manufacturing facilities in China and Hungary. Hankook also possess technical centers in USA, Korea, Germany and Japan.
