Goodyear India grabs the Prestigious Golden Peacock Award for ‘Excellence in Corporate Governance’

The prestigious 2016 Golden Peacock Award for the ‘Excellence in Corporate Governance’ in the rubber sector is won by Goodyear India. The Golden Peacock awards, which were instituted in India by the Institute Of Directors in the year 1991, are considered as the Holy Grail of Corporate Excellence worldwide. And this honour highlights American tyre multinational, Goodyear’s pledge in regards to sustainable and effective Corporate Governance system.

Goodyear India Limited’s Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. Rajeev Anand stated that they are very proud and privileged to receive this award that reiterates their work which creates a better environment for the several shareholders in the tyre firm. When it comes to technological innovation in the tyre and rubber industry, the leading tyre company has always been a torch bearer and a benchmark setter for others, while from the organisational point of view such awards essentially fortify their confidence and encourage them to do better. The tyre brand as an organisation is always loyal towards its customers and stakeholders alongside this award is a testimony to the same.

Every year, from more than 25 countries across the globe, the Golden Peacock Awards Secretariat (GPAS) receives over 1,000 entries for numerous awards. And to examine these applications an Assessment Group, which includes Corporate Governance and Sustainability experts is set up to assess the applications. The awards scheduled from 17th to 20th October 2016 under the ‘’16th London Global Convention on Corporate Governance & Sustainability” were held at the Millennium Hotel Mayfair in London.

My need for speed began at a very early age and I realised this as soon as I got my first bicycle at the age of 8. When all the other kids would break downhill I would pedal harder just to go faster and enjoy the thrill.
