World’s leading tyre giant, Goodyear is here to amaze again. Last year, it revealed the revolutionary Goodyear Eagle 360 prototype at the Geneva International Motor Show. And this year taking its pioneering effort forward, the US- based multinational has unveiled Goodyear Eagle 360 ‘Urban’ tyre concept at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show. Goodyear Eagle 360 Urban is a 360-degree tyre concept that carries artificial intelligence and is developed keeping in mind the future of autonomous cars.

In addition to artificial intelligence, it also possesses vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity, which will help futuristic autonomous vehicles steer through numerous concerns that drivers face in their day-to-day life. Besides being spherical in shape, the updated version of Goodyear Eagle 360, this time, holds has an internal computer.

Just like Eagle 360, the latest Urban concept too uses magnetic levitation leading to no physical joint. Here the sensors within can evaluate road conditions, however, an addition of artificial intelligence assists the car to make well-versed decisions as far as route or movements are concerned. To perfectly adapt different road conditions, the outer layer of the tyre has unique morphing tread which can harden or soften in order to increase or reduce agility. In the instances of puncture, the tyre’s skin can self-heal using bonding technology. The Urban’s 360-degree rotation helps in making the car much more agile and capable of spinning then and there, which will improve city navigation.

My need for speed began at a very early age and I realised this as soon as I got my first bicycle at the age of 8.
