Continental Inaugurates Its Electronic Braking System Facility In Manesar

Automotive component and tyre manufacturer, Continental today started off its electronic braking system facility for 4-wheelers in Manesar, Haryana.  On the occasion, Head of Business Unit Vehicle Dynamic Division, Chassis and Safety, Continental AG, Mr. Felix Bietenbeck stated that this facility in Manesar will be able to produce 6 lakh units per annum. He also added that Continental plans to increase the amount of investment to double the production figures in 2017-18. However, the official did not disclose the investment figures the company has made in the Indian subcontinent.

The increase in production capacity is the result of high demands by the car manufacturers and along with, Continental is also looking forward to boosting the capacity for the two-wheeler systems. Highlighting the two-wheeler safety measures aggressively taken by the domestic manufacturers, Mr. Bietenbeck stated that they expect high demands in the region.

Furthermore, the Managing Director, Continental Automotive Components India, Claude D’Gamma Rose also commented that for Continental AG, India stands as a market of maximum possibilities.

Besides the manufacturing facility, the company also has its Technical Centre in Bengaluru which carries Research & Development (R&D) projects for Continental AG’s domestic and global ventures.
