Bridgestone, the world’s second-largest tyre manufacturer has said that it will soon invest more than INR 350 crore on its tyre manufacturing plant located at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. According to sources the aim of the company is to further expand the existing tyre plant so as to increase the capacity of the plant to produce more than 20,000 tyres per day by the next year i.e. 2020. This would then enable the Bridgestone to meet the demand for its products in the region.
In a statement, Parag Satpute, MD Bridgestone India has commented that this expansion is due to the trust and confidence of their OEM partners and by this expansion they will demonstrate the commitment to create value for a large base of Indian customers. He further added that the prospects of domestic market growth in mid to long term are positive and the company is ready to take the lead for being a trusted partner for its customers, consumers, stakeholders and dealers.
Bridgestone India is a part of Bridgestone Corporation and has been in business in India since 1996. Bridgestone India started its operations in the country after setting up its tyre manufacturing plant in Kheda, Madhya Pradesh. Furthermore, it opened up one more plant in Chakan, Pune in 2013. The company has a vast and extensive network of dealers across the country as of 2018.
