Balkrishna Industries Limited popularly known by its abbreviation ‘BKT’ was among one of the big shots in the recently concluded Tyrexpo India 2018 held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. BKT has been a regular exhibitor at India’s premier exhibition for tyre industry and was a ‘Diamond Sponsor’ at the 6th edition of the celebrated tyre event. Located at Stall # 12A, BKT acquired a huge booth that was cleverly designed as a portable adventure tent.
The white and leaf-green colour tent can be easily rated as one of the largest and well-conceived conceptions against all the odds at the Tyrexpo India 2018. The Mumbai headquartered tyre firm has been into the manufacturing of off-highway tyres since the year 1987. The BKT’s stall featured a huge cut-out of Sunny Deol – the muscle man of Bollywood, who is also the brand ambassador for the off-the-road tyre maker, signifying the robust and rugged nature of BKT brand tyres. The stall also witnessed a huge set of off-road tyres which were the centre of attraction on all three days of at the Tyrexpo India. Inside the impressive looking stall the representatives of the company appeared quite busy explaining the visitors about BKT’s range of products. Moreover, the make-shift meeting room at the A12 stall also went fully occupied throughout the event with company’s top officials conducting business meetings with interested trade visitors enlightening them on BKT’s portfolio and business offerings.
BKT owns as many as 5 manufacturing facilities situated in Aurangabad, Bhiwadi, Chopanki, Dombivali and Bhuj, and extensively focuses on the production of tyres for mining, earthmoving, agriculture and industrial equipments. Balkrishna Industries supplies its tyres to heavy equipment OEM vendors such as JCB, John Deere and CNH Industrial. The homegrown industrial/agricultural tyre maker enjoys a good 2 percent of market share in the off-the-road tyre segment internationally.
Under the agricultural category, BKT manufactures tyres for 2WD tractor, compact tractor, forestry harvester, hay harvester, implement machinery, log skidder, mower, trencher, light truck, haulage etc. Whilst, the tyres for compact dumper, compactor, container loader, empty container loader, excavator, fork lifter, gantry crane, grader, military truck, RTG crane, universal vehicle and others fall in the industrial segment. The OTR tyre category includes tyres for underground mining vehicle, scraper, haul truck, rigid truck, load haul dump, dozer, loader and many more.

Besides its strong India footprint, BKT largely serves to the replacement market in North America and Europe. The off-highway tyre major has its North American office situated in Akron, Ohio along with one storehouse in Wando, South Carolina.
