Balkrishna Industries Ltd. Won “Port Tyre Manufacturer Of The Year” In Dubai

Balkrishna Industries Ltd. or BKT, the Indian company that specialises in heavy-duty tyres has recently added a feather to its cap. The company was awarded for its product performance and innovation at Dubai’s Terminal Operator Excellence Awards 2016. It won the “Port Tyre Manufacturer of the Year” award.

This award is given after analysing various aspects such as durability, product performance, innovation, sustainable manufacturing and recycling process. BKT’s Bhuj, Gujarat based manufacturing site was visited by a team of experts (who were awards’ jury members). And after the inspection, the experts gave the site a ‘high rating’ because of the adherence to process control and high level of process automation that the company was following there. The production facility is one of the world’s largest for off-highway tyre manufacturing and adheres to the ISO14001:2004 international standards for Environmental Management Systems.

According to the company, it has successfully launched its new range of radial port tyres and that it is near to launching its radial tyre range for terminal tractor applications.

The major terminal operators in the Middle East are using port application tyres from BKT. One outstanding example of them is the tyres that have stood for a long time on the Jebel Ali Port, in the UAE, one of the world’s biggest marine terminals.

My need for speed began at a very early age and I realised this as soon as I got my first bicycle at the age of 8.
