Time to Take Before Checking Tyre Pressure
The thumb rule is that you need to wait at least three hours with the car parked before your tyres are cool enough to get an accurate pressure. Additionally, you should try not to drive more than one mile in getting to a pump whenever you want to recheck pressure before adding air. Rules may at times sound difficult, but there are quite a few easy short cuts. In case your tyre pressure is a bit low in the morning, consider adding one or two extra pounds at an air pump at the end of the day to keep them in proper condition. This is because the next morning, when the tyres are cool again, you can adjust the pressure exactly how you want, by letting the air out of the tyres.
This is not any rule of thumb for translating a cold-pressure rating to a hot-pressure rating anyway. But if you are down to three pounds of pressure when the tyres are cold, then it is sensible you could probably come close to the right pressure by adding the required amount when the tyres are still hot. It is normal that tyre pressure rises about five pounds per square inch after sustained freeway driving. In case you do add air when the tyres are hot, you should probably take care to double-check the pressure the next morning.

This means that a new layer of rubber with grooves is bonded onto the outer perimeter of the worn tyre. Since this bonding may occasionally come loose, new tyres are always considered superior to recapped ones.
