Showcased at the recently held Auto Expo 2020 along with VW Taigun and VW T-Roc, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace SUV is now all set to make its debut in the Indian auto market with the launch slated on 6th March. The bookings of this SUV have already started at Volkswagen authorized dealerships, pan India.
The ‘Allspace’ badged SUV, is a 7-seater version of the standard Tiguan 5-seater crossover sold across the globe, including India at the price tag of Rs. 28.14 lakh (ex-showroom). After launch, the Allspace SUV will be sold in the domestic car market at a slightly higher price than the standard Tiguan.
The VW Tiguan Allspace SUV is expected to get 190 PS power delivering and 320 Nm torque churning, 2.0-litre petrol engine. This engine will be a bit more powerful than the engine seen in the standard Tiguan that has 2.0-litre capacity and capability to churn maximum power 150 PS and maximum torque of 340 Nm. Volkswagen will feature the Allspace in 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG transmissions. The car is likely to come with all-wheel driveability and will have the calibre to clock 0-100 kmph in 8.2 seconds. Alongside, the Allspace will also feature LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), panoramic sunroof and 18-inches alloy wheels.
Interiors of Allspace will see a highly-advanced infotainment system that will provide user-customizable information on the screen. In addition, the car will also get 3-zone climate control and Vienna leather upholstery. For passenger safety, the VW Tiguan Allspace will come equipped with 7 airbags, Anti-locking Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Reverse Parking Camera.
The price of Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is expected to be somewhere in the range of Rs 30-35 lakh ex-showroom and it will compete with the likes of Honda CR-V and Skoda Kodiaq in India.
