OiLibya Rally of Morocco – Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team’s Aravind KP At 24th place in 450cc class

The Stage 2 of the 2016 OiLibya Rally of Morocco saw Aravind KP, in the 450cc class, climbing up in the rankings and is now positioned at the 24th spot. Aravind KP who represents Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team has also bettered his overall ranking to 28th, while the FIM ranking that comprises of the quad bike is at the 25th spot. In Stage 3 of the rally the Bangalore-based motorist is looking to improve his performance and is expected to move up the ladder. With Stage 2 on, there are as many as 3 more stages left in the well-known marathon rally. Moreover, currently his teammates from the Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team Juan Pedrero and Adrien Metge are placed at 11th and 17th position respectively in the 450cc class.

Tagged as the fastest Indian rider, the rally also saw CS Santosh competing for Hero MotoSports with remarkable zeal and ending up with the 24th spot in Stage 2, with an overall ranking of 26th. In June 2016, Motorist Aravind KP was selected to represent TVS racing at the Dakar Rally 2017 and will compete for Sherco-TVS Rally Factory team at the globally acclaimed racing event. The other two members of the team consist of Spanish champion Juan Pedrero and Frenchman Adrien Metge. The second stage of the 2016 OiLibya Rally of Morocco witnessed the riders travel over a distance of 291 kilometers, which kicked from the ocean side and passed into the sand dunes.

The 2016 OiLibya Rally of Morocco event is scheduled from 1st October to 7th October 2016. The remaining three stages of the rally will see riders covering a total distance of 1885 kilometers in Morocco with 1317 kilometers distance solely belonging to special stages.

My need for speed began at a very early age and I realised this as soon as I got my first bicycle at the age of 8. When all the other kids would break downhill I would pedal harder just to go faster and enjoy the thrill. I was just 14 years old at the time and got to ride as a pillion with an older acquaintance. This one short ride influenced my every decision in terms of the bikes I want to own. As of today I’m 26 years old and a proud owner of a Yamaha Fz15 version 2.0 and a Kawasaki Ninja 650 2014 model having clocked a decent 30k Kms only while touring, waiting to clock 1000s more as riding makes me feel whole again after enduring the dismal routines of life.
