TVS Eurogrip is all set to take on its international competition such as Metzeler, Pirelli and so on with its newly launched range of tyres especially aimed at big bikes. The tyre maker has launched their new range of touring tyres called the Roadhound. The Roadhound tyres are made to cater to bikes between 600cc and 1000cc. In addition to this range, TVS Eurogrip has also launched the E Torq, Duratrail EB+, Beamer HS+ and YS+ tyres.
The E Torq tyres have low rolling resistance and are distinctively designed for electric scooters. The Duratrail EB+ tyres are trail-friendly and aimed at small-capacity bikes. The Beamer HS+ and YS+ tyres are road-biased tyres made especially for small-capacity bikes. TVS Eurogrip has also launched the Climber XC range of tyres in their off-road segment. These will cater to the motocross, cross-country and enduro segment. The Climber XC tyres are road-legal and are available for 18 to 21-inch wheels.
The Roadhound Range
The Roadhound range of tyres is available in two constructions: Radial and X-Ply. They are available in sizes ranging from 100/80-17 52H TL (front and rear) to 120/70 ZR 17 (58W) TL (front) and 180/55 ZR 17 (73W) TL (rear). As per the future plan, TVS Eurogrip will launch the Roadhound in 12 sizes from January 2023. By the end of the year, there will be a total of 20 sizes available. It is worth observing that these touring-oriented tyres are not meant for out-and-out performance. The Roadhound range is perfectly suited for bikes including Honda CBR650R, Kawasaki Z650 and so on.
TVS Eurogrip looks to strengthen its footprint in the premium two-wheeler tyre segment in Europe and similar developed markets with the help of this range of tyres.
The E Torq Range
In an attempt to create its name in one of the fastest-growing two-wheeler segments. TVS Eurogrip has launched the E Torq range of tyres that are specially designed and created for electric two-wheelers that have 10 or 12-inch tyres. The E Torq tyres are made using a low friction silica tech compound. This compound offers great grip on dry as well as wet roads. More importantly, it also offers about 4 to 10 percent more mileage than traditional rubber. Although the global EV market is still in a growing stage, TVS Eurogrip is in discussion with many leading EV makers in regard to OEM partnership. Is worth noticing that the silica structure is able to absorb heat in a much better manner than its carbon counterpart. It can also tackle the high acceleration as well as deceleration of EVs because of their high torque output at low RPM.
The Duratrail EB+ and Beamer HS+ & YS+ Range
TVS Eurogrip has launched the Duratrail EB+ range of tyres for bikes including TVS Apache RTR 160, Bajaj Pulsar 150, Honda Unicorn and so on. These tyres have a semi-block pattern that can help handle the trails and roads with no difficulty. TVS Eurogrip’s Beamer HS+ range is made for road-centric usage and offers better mileage. While due to the rounded, extended shoulder, the Beamer YS+ range offers better grip in both dry and wet conditions. The Beamer YS+ is a sporty tyre range.
In addition to the above new tyres, the company has also launched two new sizes for the TVS Protorq Extreme: 140/60 R17 63H TL and 140/70 R17 66H TL. These are aimed at performance-oriented bikes with 300 cc engines like BMW G 310 R, KTM 390 Duke and so on.
In recent years, it is being noted that there is a great prospect for sub-400cc and middleweight two-wheelers. The reasons are that these are affordable and offer good usable performance. Capturing this segment is going to prove crucial for the long-term growth of TVS Eurogrip.
To conclude, we can say that this new range of tyres is going to put TVS Eurogrip’s name among the leading global two-wheeler tyre businesses.
