Steelbird International, a leading global auto components manufacturer, has recently expanded its two-wheeler tyre business in Northeast India. The manufacturer has launched its new range of two-wheeler tyres in Guwahati, the capital city of Assam. The company has also announced that it will also provide roadside assistance on the tyres which is the first of its kind initiative in India. The manufacturer has a long history of about half a century in producing rubber and auto components and has recently made its appearance in the tyre business with sales commencing in North Indian cities.
Manav Kapur, Executive Director, Steelbird International, has commented that they are delighted to be in the Northeast region of the country with 10 different sizes and 6 patterns which will be available for a variety of two-wheelers and electric three-wheelers. Steelbird International has five decades of experience in operating auto components business and in rubber segments in Africa and Asia. The company launched tyres and tubes for two-wheelers and e-vehicles at Auto Expo Components 2018, earlier this year. Since then, the company is continuously expanding its market penetration and has received excellent response from North Indian states. It has also said that its tyres offer long durability with safe and better grip. The roadside assistance will be available on the pan-India basis. If any of its customers face a problem with the tyre, Steelbird will provide immediate assistance to solve the problem.
The market for two-wheelers account for almost 50 percent of the total domestic tyre production in India and is growing at 13 percent in the initial months of FY 2019. ICRA Limited (an Indian independent and professional investment information and credit rating agency) reports that the two-wheeler tyre segment is poised to grow further by 6-8 percent by the end of FY 2019.
