Over 1,200 original equipment Pirelli tyres have been recalled in U.S because of concerns that tyres’ lower sidewall have developed cracks in them. According to The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the P Zero All Season tyres in question are of size 275/40R19 101W fitments manufactured during the period of Feb, 29, 2016 and Oct, 29, 2016 and were fitted as original equipment on Maserati cars.
The reason for the cracks is said to be an incorrect carcass component, and it may result in loss of air in tyres. Loss of air can lead to tyre failure as well as loss of vehicle control that in turn can result in accident. Furthermore, it is learned that Pirelli will work closely with Maserati to make sure that it replaces those tyres free of charge.
