Hyundai Displays Ioniq 5 Electric Car With An Incredible Range And Awesome Features

South Korean automaker, Hyundai has recently unveiled its latest mid-size cross Ioniq 5. This is an electric vehicle (EV) and will be available soon in selected markets only. The company has plans to launch it in the second half of 2021. The inventive EV has some attractive features that customers are going to love. Ioniq 5 EV comes with ultra-fast charging, ample cabin space and a futuristic design. Talking about the technicalities, the Ioniq 5 is based on Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The car will get a rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. It will also have an option of two battery packs.

 

It is learnt that Hyundai has plans to sell over 1 lakh Ioniq 5 EVs globally by the end of 2022. The company also aims to rise to the third position in the global electric market by sales till 2025.

 

Ioniq 5 Design and Features

This is a feature-packed car that has used environment-friendly materials. The crossover bears a sporty look with rectangular LED headlamps, a clamshell bonnet and a fully enclosed front grille. The interior comes with a comfortable seating arrangement. Hyundai has decreased the thickness of the front seats by as much as 30%, which means there is a lot of room for passengers on the backseat in the Ioniq 5.

 

When it comes to performance, Ioniq 5 makes no compromises. Customers can opt between two battery options of 58kWh and 72.6 kWh. They also choose between rear motor layout or front and rear motor layout. The crossover will offer an amazing 500 KM range and could go up to a top speed of 185 KMPH. It will support both 400-V and 800-V charging infrastructures. 

 

In terms of technology, Ioniq 5 will support a semi-autonomous driving system. The car will also have an Augmented Reality (AR) heads-up display, Bluelink connected car tech, remote parking assist and forward-collision-avoidance assist. The EV is fitted with rims of 20 inches, which are the biggest rims ever fitted to a Hyundai EV.
