Thai Aero Tyre Plants To Be Built By Bridgestone

The world’s largest tyre manufacturer, Bridgestone has announced that they will be building Thai Aero tyre plants. The Japanese company is all set to substantially increase its aircraft tyre business in coming years. Bridgestone will build 2 aircraft tyre plants in Thailand. One of them will be for retreading while the other one will be for new tyres. The company will spend about $ 150 million till 2019, for this venture.

Both the plants will start production by 2019, however, the company has not disclosed anything about the capacity, location and number of employees to be required for the project. Bridgestone, already has 4 tyre making plants in Thailand, they employ more than 5,000 people and give an output of 56,000 tyres a day.

Bridgestone is considered one of the five major producers of radial aircraft tyres worldwide, along with Dunlop Aircraft Tyres, Group Michelin, Goodyear and Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. China’s Sentury Group is also growing rapidly in this sector.

Bridgestone also produces radial aircraft tyres at its plant in Tokyo, which is dedicated solely to that product, and retreads aircraft tyres at plants in China, Belgium, Japan and the U.S. It also maintains sales and service companies in those countries as well.
