World’s leading tyre maker Bridgestone Corporation’s Indian subsidiary Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd. has joined hands with India’s major IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for the promotion of road safety in the country. Under this effort, they will organise a country-wide ‘Tyre Safety Check-up Camp’.
The camp is scheduled to take place from 17th to 27th January 2017. It will cover 58 TCS facilities across 14 cities in India. The camp will be held at TCS campuses across Trivandrum, Pune, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Kolkata, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Guwahati, Kochi, Lucknow and Hyderabad. The camp will promote knowledge and awareness among the people regarding the tyre maintenance as well as road safety.
India has one of the highest death rates due to road accidents. About 1,46,000 people died in 2015 alone due to road accidents as per the data released by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. As the country is seeing a boom in the automotive industry it has become very pivotal to create road safety awareness among the mass. This will help in reducing the deaths and injuries that happen because of road accidents in the country.
