More About Mahindra Scorpio-N
Mahindra has introduced the Scorpio-N as a modern, new-age SUV with contemporary features like LED headlamps and tail lamps, a sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, powered driver’s seat and more. However, it retains the highlights like a butch design, ladder-on-frame construction and options of rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, which gave the original Scorpio a cult status in India.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N has two four-cylinder engine options – a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both these engine options can opt for either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. While the petrol engine has a maximum power output of 203 PS and a peak torque output of 380 Nm, the same for a diesel engine is rated at 175 PS and 370 Nm.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N is positioned in the Indian market as a niche offering, as it is the only urban three-row SUV with a ladder-on-frame construction in its price range. However, it competes with other three-row monocoque SUVs like Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus.
