Continental Wins Tyre Manufacturer of The Year Award

During the recently concluded Tyre Technology Expo 2017 in Hanover, Continental won the prestigious “Tyre Manufacturer of The Year” award. The award was judged by the panel of 27 experts from the tyre industry from around the world. They recognised the investments made by Continental over the period of last 12 months.

Nikolai Setzer, a member of the Executive Board of Continental AG responsible for Corporate Purchasing and head of the Tire division said, that the company is very happy with this award as it recognises their efforts put into innovation and their long-term vision 2025 for growth”. Continental AG is a global brand with a presence on every continent and is among the top-4 largest tyre makers.

The three key factors that made it possible for Continental to win this award were – first ever truck tyre made from dandelion rubber, setting up of a research centre in Anklam, Germany, for dandelion research and inauguration of the High-Performance Technology Centre in Korbach, Germany.

This annual award for innovation and excellence honours particularly bright ideas and the hard work put in by the tyre design and production industry. The process of nomination is quite simple candidates are either nominated by the readers of Tyre Technology International or by the editorial staff. An independent panel of experts then chooses the winners through voting.
