India’s demand for two-wheeler tyres is going to increase in coming years. As the country has about 150 million 2-wheelers on road, the good news for the two-wheeler segment is that it’s set to grow at a CAGR of 8.5% annually. The country has more 2-wheelers than 4-wheelers. So taking this in mind the Japanese tyre maker, Bridgestone has launched its ‘Neurun Tyre Brand’. This is exclusively focused towards India’s 2-wheeler tyre segment.
The rollout of the Neurun product portfolio began in August, 2016 with the introduction of five sizes and nine SKUs, a range that caters to around 70% of market demand in India.
The initial Neurun offerings are –
● Spur and Gemini F (Motorcycle Front Tyres)
● Dart and Gemini RX (Motorcycle Rear Tyres)
● Dart (Scooter Tyres)
Kazuhiko Mimura, Managing Director of Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd., was of the view that this is a strategic step by the company to cater to a wider customer base and expand its reach in the Indian market. “We are looking forward to this exciting new phase and hope to expand with the subsequent growth in the market” he said.
