Nexen Tire Corporation which is based in Seoul, South Korea is now looking to cash on its image by having the presence in the ‘Winter Olympics’ in 2018 to be held in Pyeonchang, South Korea through partner shipping with the snowboarding publications – Snowboarder Magazine and SuperPark. Not only these two magazines, but also by further expanding its sponsorship opportunities.
This month, Nexen will be officially sponsoring the 2016-2017 winter sports season, thus sponsoring World Cup and Championship events. The events of sponsorship include Speed skating, Snowboard/ski, Big Air World Cup and the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, as well as the World Cup and the World Championship on bobsleigh and skeleton events. All these sponsored events could help the tire maker to grow its brand beyond a boundary and will also help in strengthening and growing closer bonds with the action sports lifestyle.
The efforts that the South Korean tire maker is putting in includes a diverse strategy such as television commercial, magazine advertisements, out-of-home advertisements, hospitality programmes for customers and sales promotion through tickets for matches. Nexen is based on these devices to spike up the awareness of the brand and to promote the sale of the winter products.
The headquarter of Nexen Tire is in Yangsan, which is located just a few hours away from Pyeonchang, which is the host city of 2018 Winter Olympics.
