Continental, recognized as the premier and premium tyre manufacturing company worldwide, has officially broken ground for the site of its new tire plant in Mississippi, USA. This project is a part of the plan which is required for the further growth of the company. This plant will start production of truck and bus tires for North America by the end of 2019. This will not only be helpful in the long term commitment for long term investment of around $1.4 billion, but also will garner 2500 jobs.
As this is the first plant, after a decade, globally, for the truck and bus tire business, this investment which Continental has pronounced has paved way for more ambitious growth in the commercial vehicle tyre business.
Before this, Continental’s business growth in commercial vehicle tyres has consistently exceeded the market over the last five years and the company continues to see expansion in its both new truck and bus tires demand which are growing beyond the company’s existing capacity.
Continental AG is at present world’s 3rd largest tire maker and has a history of over 145-years with headquarters based out of Hanover, Germany. Moreover, the company specializes in tyres, interior electronics, chassis components, brake systems, etc.
