Tyre Bursts In Nepal Airlines Plane While Landing

An aircraft from Nepal Airlines witnessed a mishap when one of its tyre bursted while landing on the runway of Tribhuvan International Airport in the country. The plane was carrying about 150 passengers, which included Nepal’s Foreign Minister Mr. Prakash Sharan Mahat. All the passengers, including the Foreign Minister, were reported safe with plane suffering some minor damage during the accident.

After the rear tyre of the flight from Delhi to Kathmandu got burst and the plane got jammed on the runway, the airport was closed. Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) is the only international airport in Nepal. All the flight operations came to a halt for an hour after a tyre of Nepal Airlines Corporation Airbus A320, named Lumbini, burst during landing.

Minister Mahat was returning to home-country Nepal after the completion of his 2-day official tour to India. The plane suffered few damages as the landing gear of the aircraft was separated alongside it caused some damages to the runway as well due to collision. After the incident, the plane was vacated and all the passengers onboard were shifted to the airport terminal. The airport authorities have carted the aircraft to the parking-way in order to clear the runway and make way for other flights, which were halted due to this emergency.
