14th Auto Expo – Components To Begin Today

The 14th edition of Auto Expo (Components) will start at New Delhi today onwards. The four-day event is organised jointly by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Society of India Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), and accredited by Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA).

The main highlights of the event are:

Exclusive display of various Components and Technology
New product launches, focused pavilions
Convergence of world-class technologies and engineering brilliance
1,200 participants from more than 20 countries to take part in this biennial event taking place at over 60,000 square meters

The Auto Component Show is a part of biennial Auto Expo event along with The Motor Show. This year it will be a smaller event because Pragati Maidan’s most of the area is under renovation. This means many of the exhibitor stalls will be under the hangars. The Auto Expo in 2016 had more than 1,500 exhibitors displaying their technologies and products spanning an area of 80,000 square metres. The event will display components of automobiles including bikes, trucks, cars, as well as various automotive technologies. It will be held at Hall 7A-H, 8-12A, Lake Hangar (Hall A-C) at the Pragati Maidan.

This year’s largest stall will be of TVS Group. The other companies who will be displaying their products are –Shriram Pistons and Rings, UNO Minda, Bosch, Sandhar Technologies, Jamna Auto Industries, Delphi, KSS Abhishek Safety Systems, Varroc, ANAND Group, among others. But the name that stands out is of DENSO Corporation.

DENSO Corporation will showcase a wide range of technologies and products to help improve the environmental performance and safety of vehicles. These will include electronic systems, aftermarket products and information and safety systems. The products displayed will also include an automotive ceiling blower fan that is developed in India. This was developed keeping in mind the Indian summers where this product will help to circulate the cooler air provided by the AC. Also, to help create a more earth-friendly, traffic accidents free environment, DENSO will promote the products that meet the local traffic conditions of each country to better meet their demands.

This time the Noida-based Samvardhana Motherson Group (SMG), that had taken part in the 2016 edition of Components show, will not be participating. Their absence is understood by the fact that they have a large business overseas and are now focusing more on their foreign ventures.

Due to the presence of other component makers in the Auto Expo 2018, the German multinational engineering and electronics company, Bosch will hold their own Bosch-Tech Expo between 7 to 10 February at Stellar Gymkhana (Greater Noida). It is understood that they don’t want to mix up their components display with other competitors at the Components Show.
