Indian tyre making giant MRF tyres has signed a 3-year contract with CAMS Australian Rally Championship (ARC), Australia’s national rally championship series. MRF will be the sole tyre supplier for the championship starting this year till the end of 2019. MRF is also the tyre supplier of another Australian championship called as ‘Queensland Rally Championship’.
Mentor tyres will supply the tyres to all the competitors in the rally as they are the exclusive importer of MRF motorsport tyres for Australia & New Zealand. Vivek Ponnusamy, CEO of Mentor Tyres said that MRF is committed for a long term to stay in the Australian motorsport in all its forms.
The rally is scheduled to start in March 2017, with Eureka Rally. In April it will move to the western part of the country with Quit Forest Rally. In May, the International Rally of Queensland will take place. After this, there will be a long break and then in September, Lightforce Rally SA will take place. It will be followed by the October’s National Capital Rally. The final season finale will happen in November with the Kennards Hire Rally.
