Somewhere inside our heart, we have this dream of doing off-roading in our car. Especially, those who own an SUV love to do off-roading, after all they are meant to do it. Everyone loves the thrill and excitement of off-roading, but few are actually well aware of it. So, today we will tell you few basic off-roading tips to help you drive safe on those terrains.

● One should go for a vehicle meant for off-roading, mainly an SUV, preferably a 4-wheel drive, which should have a high ground clearance. You should actually know about your vehicle inside out.

● Before starting the journey, you should check the tank, tires pressure, GPS navigation system and other necessary accessories such as spare tires. You never know when you need any of them.

● Also, it is important that you keep a first-aid kit, drinking water, some eatables ready with you all the time while on an off-road trip. Remember! Most off-roading places won’t have water or food.

● If you are off-roading in the misty environment do make sure your car has fog lights ON.

● The tires must be broad enough so as to make the grip better.

● One should follow the trail that has generally been followed before if you are a novice in case.

● Once you on the terrain, take a good look at it to access before you actually drive onto it.

● Drive your car slowly and don’t try to rush. Anyways, the enjoyment of off-roading lies in driving slowly on difficult paths.

● One advice for the passengers, please remain calm all the times as off-roading is a tricky affair for both driver and passengers.

● While driving on snow or sand one must keep changing the speed so as to provide better traction.

● While going uphill or downhill, be careful to move at a particular speed. Never accelerate or decelerate too much.

● Gear shifting should be avoided as far as possible while driving on the difficult terrain.

● Keep your both hands on the wheel, while driving front or reversing back.

● Avoid using the clutch pedal as a foot rest it’s harmful to clutch plates.

● Never attempt the trail which is way above your control. Always go for an easy one first and then build up your way to higher.

● Make sure you have a spotter while going for a difficult terrain.

We understand these are not that easy to remember, but for a safe off-roading, these are inevitable. After all, besides having fun and thrill remaining safe is also pretty much important.
