One of India’s leading local tyre maker, JK Tyre, inaugurated its latest global research centre in Mysuru, Karnataka. The inauguration was done by Karnataka’s Chief Minister, H.D. Kumaraswamy and Chairman & MD, JK Tyre, Raghupati Singhania. The new centre is named as Raghupati Singhania Centre of Excellence (RPSCOE), and is a part of the Harishankar Singhania Elastomer and Tyre Research Institute (HASETRI).
According to the Indian tyre maker, the centre will serve as the conglomeration of the best scientists, engineers and technicians working in the industry. They will focus to optimise product performance and product design cycle time by utilising predictive techniques and simulation. One special feature of this centre is the Semi-Anechoic Chamber. The chamber utilises specialised software for noise vibration and harshness data analysis.
Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka CM urged JK Tyre to provide courses through its research centre to the state’s youth as well as contribute to the social and economic development of the state. He further said that Karnataka already boasts some well-known internationally recognised institutions such as Infosys, BEML, DRDO, CFTRI, and JK Tyre’s new centre of excellence is an addition to this impressive list.
JK Tyre has been present in Mysuru since last 21 years and is the only manufacturer of large tyres in the state.
