Day 2 of Auto Expo 2018 – Components saw an astonishing footfall and it turned out to be another spectacular day. Visitors witnessed a creative splendour of components paving way for futuristic technologies.
The main attractions of the second day were:
- Steelbird, a leading name in the automotive components sphere has announced that it is soon going to manufacture tyres.
- The Korean, Canadian and German pavilions showcased cutting-edge components from manufacturers and traders from these respective countries.
- Varroc, a global automotive component manufacturer and supplier of exterior lighting systems showcased a concept car with advanced exterior lighting technologies. The company also showed all-LED lights set up on the Honda Activa.
- Setco Automotive showed Make in India offerings in the form of an array of products that included bearing housing, ventilated brake disc, plate clutch release and also bearing caps.
- The Japanese giant, Hitachi showcased a new generation advanced driver assistance system for autonomous driving.
- Eschmann Textures has displayed multiple texture options that can be applied to plastics and trims in automobiles.
- Mahindra First Choice presented a new retail low inventory business model that helps the retailers and distributors get the maximum ROI.
- Sandhar Technologies displayed its state-of-the-art solutions for the automobile industry.
Later in the day, during the Press Meet NK Minda, President, ACMA, urged the GOI and members of the automotive industry to gradually shift towards xEV with the equal development of supporting infrastructure. He also emphasised on the fact that while embracing the advancements of electric mobility, the Indian automotive industry is also gearing up for the transition from BSIV to BSVI.
Speaking to media persons, Vinnie Mehta focused on safety. He was of the view that safety is a big agenda now and this is quite evident from the kind of components and technologies the exhibitors are showcasing at Auto Expo 2018. While Secretary, Dept. of Industrial Policy & Promotion, GOI, Ramesh Abhishek applauded the Component Industry’s contribution to the Indian Economy and to Make in India initiative.
